The sailing ship “PHILAE” has 15 comfortable suites on two decks. Lounge, restaurants, large sun deck with Jacuzzi and therefore suitable for a larger group of 20 to 30 travelers.

The dahabiya "S/v Philea" has an experienced, professionally-trained crew that ensures first-class service and makes you feel pampered spoiled and cared for.
Equipped with modern comforts, including a 36-jet Jacuzzi. S/v Philea is crafted with decks of high quality Egyptian wood and furnished with period pieces, handmade wicker armchairs and comfortable chaise lounges.
S/v Philea features 15 luxuriously appointed, outward-facing suites with wide panoramic windows overlooking the beautiful landscape. Everything on S/v Philea is handmade. You will feel the Egyptian spirit in every corner.
Deck Plan:
Our Dahabiya " S/v Philea " is based on the design of an original Dahabiya from the late 18th century. On the middle deck there is a spacious lounge and dining area as well as four suites. The cozy salon has a small library with books about the Nile and Egypt. With its comfortable sofas, it is the perfect place to end the day. Share stories and experiences, read a book or play a game of backgammon while enjoying an Egyptian coffee or a glass of wine. The centerpiece of this traditional double-masted sailing vessel is the partly shaded sun deck. It's the perfect place to stretch out comfortably in a deck chair and watch the scenery glide by Light from antique lamps and chandeliers shimmers onto the wooden sundeck, while beautifully embroidered cushions, a hammock, sofas and deck chairs are scattered on either side. The shaded sundeck is a great place to relax under the billowing white sails. As you cruise along the Nile, something beautiful keeps catching your eye.
Below the middle deck is the main living area with eleven suites.

Number of cabins:
- 11 Panorama suites approx. 21 m² (6.2 m x 3.4 m): 9 suites are with two beds (each 1.2 m X 2m), which can be put together. 2 Suites has a double bed (1.60 m X 2 m) and a single bed (1.2 m X 2 m) that can occasionally be used for 3-bed occupancy.
- 4 Terrace Suites approx. 33 m² (8.2 m X 4 m): Panorama Suite with private terrace. The terrace is located at the back of the ship and offers an breathtaking view of the Nile. The suite has a large double bed (1.80 m X 2 m) and is charmingly decorated with regional fabrics and furniture.
All suites face the exterior and are equipped with:
- A panoramic window (2m X 1.40 m) as well as a window with mosquito net (85 cm X 1.10 m).
- All windows are made of double glass for thermal & sound insulation
- Private bathroom with high quality equipment: shower cabin, sink and toilet as well as hairdryer, complimentary toiletries and hand & bath towels
